Madelyn (AKA Chipmunk to the hospital
staff) was a vivacious, giddy, beautiful 6 year old girl. She loved getting her nails painted, having tea parties, and watching
Hannah Montana.
Madelyn also loved Jesus, Cinderella, coloring rainbows and her family
and showing the world she was a true princess. She had a smile that would melt anyone’s heart and a spirit that was
far wise beyond her 6 years.
Madelyn arrived at St Jude at the tender age of just two years old. With symptoms
of a slight limp, Maddie was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma, undergoing chemotherapy, radiation, and a stem cell transplant.
Not to mention she was the recipient of numerous research protocols and the first patient at St Jude to receive HU14:18IL2
antibody developed at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She was a St Jude patient for four years.
Heartbreakingly, Madelyn’s cancer didn’t respond to treatment and she danced through Heaven’s
gates on February 2, 2008, 4 years after her diagnosis.
Madelyn’s family was
provided with the upmost care, love and support while at St Jude and are asking for your help in reaching their goal for ‘TEAM
Madelyn’ in the upcoming St Jude Memphis Marathon in December.
Please
donate in memory of sweet Maddie and in honor of all children still fighting.
